Audio Engineer • Composer • Storyteller of Sound
With over 25 years in the industry, Brent is a seasoned audio engineer, composer, and post-production specialist whose passion for storytelling through sound has led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in film, television, and music.
Brent’s journey began at the age of 8, when his dad—an enthusiastic polka lover—noticed his son’s natural talent for playing his favorite tunes. Wanting to nurture that gift, he bought an organ. What started as a way to share in his dad’s love of polka quickly became something much bigger. Long before multitrack recording was common, Brent was already experimenting with his parents’ cassette tape duplicator, inventing his own way to layer sounds and shape his unique creative voice.
Brent earned his degree in Music from The Art Institute, setting the stage for a diverse and prolific career. His technical precision and creative instincts opened doors early, landing him an unforgettable experience recording ADR with Harrison Ford for the blockbuster film Air Force One. His work continued to span major film and television projects, including collaboration with Oscar-winning composer Alan Silvestri on the legendary Forrest Gump score.
Brent also partnered with actress and producer Shelley Duvall on the concept and design for Greenliving and Trash Dummies, blending environmental awareness with educational entertainment. His contributions helped shape the creative vision and audio integrity of these unique projects.
Brent’s humanitarian side shines through in his work with actor/director Tim Robbins and Café Films on a powerful documentary addressing poverty in urban Los Angeles. Here, Brent used the subtle art of sound to give voice to the voiceless, bringing human depth to social issues that needed to be heard as much as seen.
Today, Brent works from his state-of-the-art home studio in Houston, Texas, where he continues to blend musicality with technical mastery. Whether he’s sculpting a cinematic soundscape, composing for solo piano, or mixing in 5.1 surround, Brent remains driven by the same passion he had as a kid, when his parents recognized his talent and bought an organ—originally intended for his dad, but quickly claimed by Brent. Their support, even then, helped shape the path he was becoming destined to follow.
